At The Good House, our boutique hotel and spa is centered around one of Desert Hot Springs' greatest natural treasures: naturally heated mineral hot spring water. For generations, travelers have come to this remarkable corner of Southern California to soak, recharge and experience the restorative benefits of mineral-rich water.

Our Wellness Philosophy

Everything at The Good House begins with the water.

For generations, people have traveled to Desert Hot Springs seeking the restorative qualities of its natural mineral hot springs. We believe the water is only part of what makes the experience so memorable.

Our boutique hotel and spa has been lovingly cared for over decades and is home to more than 50-year-old native trees, fragrant rosemary and lush gardens that have transformed the property into a true desert oasis.

We believe wellness comes from reconnecting with the natural world.

Earth beneath your feet.

Water rising naturally from deep below the desert.

Air refreshed by a canopy of mature trees and abundant greenery.

Fire glowing from evenings gathered around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars.

The mineral water encourages you to slow down. The gardens invite you to linger. Together they create an environment where it's easy to breathe deeply, quiet your mind and simply be present.

Two Mineral Pools, Two Ways to Relax

Every body is different, which is why we offer two natural mineral hot spring pools at different temperatures.

Warm Mineral Pool | 93-95°F

Our larger pool is maintained between 95 and 97 degrees, making it perfect for extended soaks, quiet conversations and relaxing afternoons beneath the trees.

Hot Mineral Pool | 102-104°F

Our smaller soaking pool is maintained between 102 and 104 degrees, offering a deeper therapeutic soak that's especially inviting after a massage or beneath the stars in the evening.

Many guests enjoy moving between both pools throughout their visit, creating a soaking experience that's uniquely their own.

Experience the Water Your Way

Guests receiving a spa treatment enjoy one complimentary hour of soaking in our natural mineral hot spring pools before or after their appointment, with the option to upgrade to a full Day Pass for half price and enjoy unlimited access to both mineral pools, our dry sauna and peaceful garden grounds throughout the day.

If you're not booking a spa treatment, our Day Pass is the perfect way to experience the property without staying overnight. Spend the day soaking in naturally heated mineral water, relaxing beneath mature trees, reading in the shade or simply enjoying the slower pace of our lush desert oasis.

Bringing your four-legged companion? Our Pup Pass allows well-behaved dogs to enjoy the grounds right alongside you.

While a day at The Good House is wonderfully restorative, many guests choose to extend their visit with an overnight stay. Wake up to breakfast in the gardens, enjoy a morning soak before exploring Palm Springs or Joshua Tree National Park and return to the peaceful comfort of our boutique hotel and spa. Whether you stay for a few hours, a night or an entire weekend, you'll leave feeling rested, renewed and more connected to the simple pleasures of slowing down.

Why Desert Hot Springs Is World Famous for Mineral Hot Springs

Desert Hot Springs is one of the few places in the world where naturally heated mineral water rises to the surface without artificial heating.

Fed by underground aquifers and protected by the area's unique geology, the water travels deep beneath the earth before naturally emerging rich in beneficial minerals. Unlike many hot springs around the world, Desert Hot Springs is known for its naturally odorless mineral water, allowing guests to enjoy long, relaxing soaks without the smell commonly associated with sulfur springs.

Combined with abundant sunshine, dramatic mountain views and a peaceful desert landscape, Desert Hot Springs has earned its reputation as one of California's premier wellness destinations.

Where Our Mineral Water Comes From

Every drop of water in our mineral pools has a remarkable journey.

Rain and snow from the San Bernardino Mountains slowly filter through layers of rock over thousands of years. As the water travels deep beneath the desert, it naturally warms while collecting minerals before returning to the surface beneath Desert Hot Springs.

This process creates the naturally heated mineral water that has made the region famous for more than a century. It's an experience that simply can't be recreated by adding minerals to a traditional pool or hot tub.

When you soak at The Good House, you're enjoying one of nature's oldest wellness traditions.
